Is your board operating as effectively as it might?
Is it really adding value to your business?
A Board Review provides an essential development opportunity.
Performance reviews are an essential part of any well run business or organisation and are required by the ASX Guidelines for Good Corporate practice. We all have weaknesses and there are always opportunities to do better. The board is no different.
It too will have areas where it can improve and add more value to the company or organisation's performance. The Walton Group uses its own online tool, Board Advantage, developed in conjunction with ROC Systems, an international IT solutions company. Board Advantage draws on national and international research into notions of best practice, with questions designed to dig down into the fundamental aspects of a board’s operations, including its social and ethical dynamics.
The Walton Group uses Board Advantage to collect quantitative data and interviews with directors, senior managers and even external stakeholders if required, to gain the qualitative information that will build an accurate picture of your board’s performance.
Our process is carefully tailored to reflect your business or organisation's context and circumstances. It culminates in a presentation to the board and facilitated discussion on issues that have emerged and the opportunity to prepare individual and board development plans to ensure that real improvement is seen. The process may include just a whole of board review, or you may also include a specific peer top peer review, review of the Chair, and/or committee reviews if needed. Each of these further reviews will dig further into what is really happening at a group and individual level.
Board Advantage, will enable you to accurately benchmark your performance from year to year from an accurate 'pictorial' base.
